Now, I wasn't going to bring this up. . .
. . .but since the opening paragraph of the 2007 Truck & SUV Of The Year story "goes there," I figured I would add the little bit of evidence that I have of the fabled "California Highway Patrol officer [who] waved a suspected speeder to the side of the road, prompting a convoy of trucks and SUVs to stop on the shoulder of a dusty, two-lane highway."
Sometimes you wonder if these stories you read about are true; I know I have. Well, I do know this one is.
This picture is blurry because I was shaking as I hastily took it through the front windshield while I was pulling over. I simply don't like "being in trouble," which I suspected we were in at this point. The story does end well (for most of us), which shows that if you are in a big enough group, you just might get away with it sometimes.
