2007 Of The Year Truck and SUV Testing

. . .but since the opening paragraph of the 2007 Truck & SUV Of The Year story "goes there," I figured I would add the little bit of evidence that I have of the fabled "California Highway Patrol officer [who] waved a suspected speeder to the side of the road, prompting a convoy of trucks and SUVs to stop on the shoulder of a dusty, two-lane highway."

Sometimes you wonder if these stories you read about are true; I know I have. Well, I do know this one is.

This picture is blurry because I was shaking as I hastily took it through the front windshield while I was pulling over. I simply don't like "being in trouble," which I suspected we were in at this point. The story does end well (for most of us), which shows that if you are in a big enough group, you just might get away with it sometimes.

I plead the 5th on how fast I was going, but I will admit to seeing him (CHP) before his radar was in range and slowing down at least 12mph.

2. Bob's due for his traffic school, 1 m.p.h. under the maximum, he cut it close. My favorite part of the whole ordeal was Dan's excuse: "We're from Motor Trend magazine."

4. Good thing GM set the limiter at INFORMATION EDITED PENDING JUDICIAL ACTION otherwise BC's speed might have creeped into no man's land and the po po would have had BC assuming the position. Sometimes Big Brother does know best, I suppose.
