What new truck builds do you want to see?

We have some new projects already in motion but there is room for plenty more. What would you like to see?

Alright, you guys already know about Bob Ryder's '50 Chevy Suburban project and Brandan Gillogly's '68 Chevy C10 that's inching forward towards completion. Behind the scenes Dan Ward is looking into a Ford F-100 unibody and Steve Warner has a new truck and boat in the works featuring a '07 Chevy Silverado and Eliminator boat. There is a couple little tech tidbits left on our Project Sinatra Ford Super Crew so what's left? That is up to you guys and your choices. If you don't choose then we'll choose for you. Something in a SUV new or old or maybe a square body '73 - '87 Chevy C10? What about an EL Camino or something totally off the line like El Camaro? Maybe a Dodge Ram or something else? Let us know now! WHAT TRUCKS DO YOU WANT TO SEE BUILT IN THE MAGAZINE?

1. I really want to see someone build a body-dropped Scout 80 or a Commando with a 6.1L Hemi.

2. Well, I have an 01 Yukon with a 5.3L that is basically stock that I would gratefully let you guys turn into your next head turner. I also have a 1990 GMC Sierra Stepside with a 5.7L TBI that could use some resto. I would love to see one of these in the pages of Truckin'. Think about it. LOL

4. I don't know about all that sheet metal. My next truck will have a cab from a old PeterBilt. I'm more into having a more versatile truck. like A whole fleet of trucks in one. To get what I'm refering to check out http://Synchro-Link.com

5. Alright, since you asked here are a few thoughts for you to consider. I have a lot more but this is good for now.

1) I would really like to see something different. Personally I am a huge fan of truly custom one off vehicles like the El Camaro for example.

2) How about some budget builds where you only have $10,000 to work with for example. I really like how you put the cost, hours as well as the time and tools needed in with some of the articles, it makes planning things much easier so thanks for that.

3) Some SUV's would be great for new about some thing from the Ford family a '02 up Explorer or an Expedition. I vote for a 07 Expedition and not just because I happen to have one :)

4) For older SUV's how about some Bronco's or big Blazers

5) For a uniqueness factor why not do some 60-70's Dodge trucks.I cannot even remember the last time I have seen one in print. I know that are not popular but that is why you should do something on them. Who knows maybe you could start a trend!

6. The most insane truck I can think of right now sitting on my couch would be a '63 F-100 Unibody SWB with a 500hp small-block and body laying on the asphalt.
Sound feasible?

9. If you want something different. I say find an 1970 Dodge Power Wagon. Clean all the old suspension off, and put in a modern suspension and axles. Put disc brakes at all corners. Find a 6.1 Hemi, and set up to run E85. Go with a set of 35 inch tires with an 20 inch wheels. And then restore the truck body to a factory look, update the interior to a luxury car status. I think it would be nice to see some classic Dodge trucks in the magazines, everyone seems to forget about them. Even the resto companies.

13. I would loe to see a 2005-2009 Grand cherokee build up but not the hemi do something with the 3.7l that would be a challenge.

14. About 10 years ago, I saw a little truck that had been converted to all electric - I know it's a weird idea, but I would love to see a classic stepside switched over - looking very cool, and then just rolling away . . . .

15. Everyone seems to like early Econolines, from Chopper Dave to the traditional hot rodders and even Bob Ryder. I have yet to see a slammed to the ground Econoline panel that was totally finished and actually driveable. It would be a fabricator's nightmare engineering but well worth it. Then do it up properly in satin black with maybe some patina'd lettering.
