Chevy HHR SS

ChevyHHR.net leaked a scan of what's supposedly a 2008 model brochure for the Chevy HHR SS. That's right, a Super Sport version of the HHR. Here's what we can gather from squinting our eyes and attempting to read some of the text from the brochure. The car will definitely be turbocharged, not supercharged. Our best guess is a version of the Pontiac Solstice GXP engine. In the Pontiac, the engine produces 260 horsepower. It's expected the HHR will have close to if not the same amount of power. The transmission will be a 5-speed manual, not a 6-speed, as some earlier rumors had suggested.

It will have an A-pillar mounted boost gauge, and aggressively-bolstered front bucket seats. As you can see from the photo, the front grille and bumper are substantially different from the regular HHR. That's about all we know for now, but if we hear more updates, we'll let you know!

Our Take: Finally, the HHR is getting the horsepower it's deserved from the get-go. We'd love to see them offer the SS in the Panel Van version.
