Ford V8 smallblock

More and more feature trucks are straying away from a small-block 350ci V-8 with a carb and cheap chrome air cleaner and switching over to exotic, mutilple throttle-body fuel injection setups. But are they here to stay?

The math makes a compelling argument. A regular carb intake is $130, carb $245, and chrome air cleaner with element $40. All said and told, you're out $415. No big deal, right?
Then you look at a tricked-out fuel injection setup that starts around a grand and a really cool one like this, runs around $6,000. Sure it makes more power, sure it looks amazing, but is it worth it? Or, will this hot-right-now fad fade as more and more people are being frugal with their dollars?
