Over the years of being an active custom car/truck and drag racing enthusiast you meet some very cool people.

Dave Rosenberg who I met some 18-years ago while helping Bruce Dyda at his shop in Long Beach, California, where he built and maintained, Sprint Cars and Midgets that raced at near by Ascot Park in Gardena. Dave was Bruce's Snap-On tool guy. After Ascot was closed, Bruce moved his shop and decided to pursue another flavor of speed building nostalgia front engine dragsters. The first nostalgia front engine dragster Bruce built was Cherry Bomb, powered by an injected small block Chevy. Dave was the driver due to the fact that Bruce could not fit in the damn thing. The second nostalia digger Bruce built is the second generation of the one he and Dave campain presently, "Surfer's Paradise" which is powered by a blown small block Chevy that runs consistant 7.60's ets. Dave has been making 1320 passes in "Surfer's Paradise" for the past 15-years. The Dyda/Rosenberg team is has been very successful of the years in the nostalgia drag racing world, winning quite a few championships.

Dave is also an avoid nostalgia long board surfer who has been surfing as long as there has been water.
This last weekend my wife and I attended Dave's 60th B-Day Bash. It was actually a Hawaiian Luau complete with a surfer band, Polynesian band and Polynesian, Hula dancers. The surfers fest featured a roast pig, head and alcoholic beverages.
Knowing Dave has been a dedicated ol' school longboard surfer for since high school, I made an ol' surfer's board for him. Checkout the photo.

A good time was had by all.
