The recent plunge in gas prices gives our wallets a break.....for now.

Yesterday, Monday December 1, marked the 77th day of declining pump prices, which is due to lower demand for fuel and steady decline in crude oil prices, which has been caused by the global ecenomic downturn says Jeffery Spring, public relations manager of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

“If the economy stays soft, we might not see our traditional bump up,” Spring said.

California drivers typically pay the highest gas prices on average due to what is called a 'boutique blend' of gasoline, which is specially formulated to reduce polluting emissions, according to Marie Montgomery, an Automobile Club of Southern California public relations specialist.

With lower gas prices currently in effect, holiday traveling will have less of a traumatic blow to our bank accounts but daily fuel conservation should still be practiced.
