Are Vans Coming Back?

New Trend this Show Season?

At a recent truck show in Arizona, I came across this cool van that was 'bagged, flamed, and ready to cruise. It made me wonder... are vans coming back?

Our heritage stems from vans and I know there is still a large following, but will we see more vans this show season?

The Van culture really never left anywhere,there are still Many street and custom vans still going strong.Many Van-Runs to attend.2009 Van Nationals are in Summit station penn.(http://37thvannats.com/)WE NEED EXPOSURE FROM A MAJOR MAGAZINE to get vans back in the limelight,Yes Vans are really cool,They are hardly ever stock.Vanners build the vans to there taste and many people still want to see these Great Machines.

The Van Craze Should resurface with the Murals and the great interiors, cabinets,chain steering wheels,Fancy beds,Bars.

3. Next week there will be at 5 custom vans at the Detroit Autorama, this info has been posted in the forum section. This should make it cristal clear that we want to get back into the magazines.
As Todd mentions custom vans never left. The National Truck-In averages 500 custom vans each year. That would make it one of the largest truck shows in the U.S behind the All Truck Nationals in Carlisle. Bob Ryder from Truckin covered the event back in 2004. We sure would like to see Bob in Summit Station Pa. in July.
Just look at the Readers Rides section of this very site. It is unfortunate for us and I am not sure why but the magazines have held their thumbs down on custom vans appearing in their pages.
Telephone calls, emails and even private messages are no longer returned to us.

7. You ask if vans are coming back? They never left. There are lot of us that have been in the vanning community for over 30-35 years.
It would be nice to have Truckin cover our eVANts again.

8. Don't forget people are still building them regardless of how little aftermarket support there is. Van builders have always been resourceful. Forget all about scooby doo, his van didn't have an angle chop, molded flares, cragars and functioning sidepipes.

9. Nice ride and thanks for the oportunity to add to this topic. There are lot of cool modern looking vans still in circulation. I for one like the Flamed Chevy Van. Add a few articles in your mag and see the support you will receive the vannin community.

13. It's about time you guys start noticing the Vanning World again... As mentioned previously, you guys were built on Vanning, I used to never miss an issue... Take some time to check some of the information that you're being provided here, you won't be disappointed...

Trust me...

There are some incredible vans, that I believe your readership would be interested to see, including some Radical Vans from the past, as well as some Radical ones being built today...

14. Ok fellas, back by popular demand....starting in issue 8 (the issue we start next week), there WILL be a van-dedicated feature.
If we receive a positive response from it, we will run more. If it continues to grow, we'll make it a monthly feature.

For those of you asking for Bob Ryder to come out to the Van Nats, we'll make that call based on the popularity of this new feature section.

We know where Truckin' came from, but it is up to you to support us going back to it.
