Who Says Minivans Can't Be Cool?

For whatever reason, minivans have gotten stuck with the stigma of being "uncool" or mommy-mobiles. Instead, everyone has gone to SUVs or this newfangled thing than nobody knows exactly how to define, called a "crossover."

Well, I bring you two pictures of "mini" vans that I think are pretty cool. The chopped VW comes courtesy of our sister publication Mini Truckin', while the slammed blue Astro comes from Sport Truck.

And finally, if you REALLY want to go mini...check out Grommit Industries' tiny green machine.

So for all you minivan haters out there, here's some evidence that vans can indeed be cool.

2. Well It Took me a while for the Mini Van to grow on me.But I can still crash in it So It's a Van they say.I have one and Hope it's done for this yrs Nationals,and gets a plug in Truckin Magazine as well.

3. Mini's have been cool for a long time. It took awhile for me to get into them and honestly the only ones I ever liked wouldf have to be the Astro and Safari. Mainly because they are rear wheel drive and are easily retrofitted with a Small block V-8.
You WILL see how cool they can be if you attend the 37th Van Nationals this July in Summet Station PennsylVANia. We've been showing them for a long time now and I picked up my first last year and hope to do something with it. It's a '97 Astro no window. If we can post pics here I will.

4. I was big into the minivans for a while, I had a 95' Astro van that I had completely customized inside and out. I like having the room to travel w/o leaving half my stuff at home and it doesn't hurt to be moving in style. My new project is an 94 E-350 old U-Haul box truck and it is one sweet ride. My buddy told me U-Haul was selling off their old box trucks and my project was off to a start. I've basically got little hotel room on wheels, not to mention I've been able to do quite a bit of customization. I just bought mine at a rental center but they've also got a good website with their box trucks for sale, uhaul.com/trucksales.
