Yes, its that time of year again for the Ford F-100 Supernationals May 14-16 held at Chilhowee Park in Knoxville, Tennessee. I will be attending the Big Daddy Ford F-100 show again this year to bring you first hand show coverage and awesome features.
In 1978 a 30 year old custom truck enthusiast by the name of Pat Ford thought it would be cool to promote a custom truck show showcasing only Ford F-100 trucks. The original Ford F-100 Supernationals was held at Chimney Rock, North Carolina from '78-'83. The show was then moved to Gatlinburg, Tennessee where it was home for the Supernationals from '84-'89. The show was then moved only 10-miles up the road to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Pat made the Grand Hotel there in Pigeon Forge the F-100 showcase for the next 13-years. In 2004 the F-100 Supernationals out grew the Grand Hotel and was moved to a much larger 80 acre venue Chilhowee Park in Knoxville, Tennessee where it still resides today.
Last year was Pat Ford's final Ford F-100 Supernationals after 30-years Pat and his wonderful wife Jan decided to turn their promoters badges over to Charlie Cobble. Pat will still be attending as a spectator/consultant. I would like to express my love and appriciation to both Pat and Jan for their dedication, professionalizum and love while putting on the Big Daddy of Them All for the past 30-years. Thanks again for all the wonderful memories while attending my past 11 Ford F-100 Supernationals. What a great run!
I have my travel and camera bags packed ready for my flight out of Orange County to Knoxville, next Wednesday. Hope to see you guys there!
