Why is the Dakota missing in the custom scene?

When I say Dakota, do you think of a custom truck or do you think ugly duckling of the truck world?

Dodge makes a great truck and yet the Dakota hasn't caught on with custom truck enthusiasts.

Why is that?

Granted the suspension is a bit more difficult to lay out and the body styling is unique, but isn't that a good thing?

1. The most recent version is competitive power-wise (300+) but up until the most recent powertrain update, it was overweight for its size, and the V8 only had as much power as the competitors' V6s, but sucked gas like a big block.

I don't know if there's anything inherently wrong with it, other than occupying that awkward middle ground where it's not that much less expensive than a Ram, yet doesn't have the same level of capability. Honestly, other than people not wanting anything bigger, most would probably go for a Ram.

There isn't much after market support Dodge, it takes a real enthusiast to mod a Dodge truck. Parts are few and far between not to mention pricey. I just look at it as a challenge.

3. I agree b2_Kustoms. Being rare does make them more fun to customize and when they are done right, they really look sick.
