There is a new trend on the horizon. The Goodguys Ride Tech Street Challenge Truck Class Autocross Series gives the custom truck enthusiasts another way to express their passion for acceleration, braking, and handling performance.
The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association has included both early and late model trucks and SUV's to participants in the 2010 Ride Tech Street Challenge Autocross events. This gives competitors the opportunity to put their driving skills and truck/SUV against the clock as they maneuver through a tight and twisty cone lined course. These temporary miniature road courses are setup in parking lots at the Goodguys events. The truck's/SUV's power, torque, gear ratio, suspension, brakes and tires will be tested to the max. An autocross course lap time is clocked at less than 30 seconds. During the intense lap the driver's throttle, brake, steering inputs are very rapid and must be precise while not hitting a cone or seconds will be deducted from the lap time.

So for you custom truck enthusiasts think you have what it takes to accelerate, brake, turn left and right inside the miniature coned confines of an autocross course. Then transform your early or late model truck or SUV into a wild g-machine and buckle up.
