Where are they?!

We've been discussing in the office lately why we don't see too many early model, full size custom Dodge trucks on the streets...

...but we came to the conclusion that parts are hard to come by, and the general consensus is that they aren't as easy on the eyes as a classic Chevy or Ford. Sure, C10s and F-100s are far easier to get your hands on, and aftermarket support is more than bountiful, but when there is a will, there is always a way.

Here is a pic of an '89 Dodge D150 owned by Robert Ferguson from Royal Palm Beach, Florida that I shot last year at Slamfest. Robert's main drive behind building a Dodge was simply to stray from the norm, and since he hadn't seen this body style customized to his liking before, he thought he'd take it upon himself to take a full stab at it. Not sure if we will run it in the mag any time soon, but I just thought now would be a perfect time to blog about it to get some feedback.

1. You could make a similar observation about the '80-'96 Ford F-150s. You hardly ever see them fixed up. When I do, I pay attention. I still don't think they're the best-looking trucks, but the fact someone took the time to customize one makes me curious.

2. The Dodge D100's look unfinished to me. The rounded fenders should have had some more contour built into them. It's no wonder that GMC made the c1500 for 10 years.

I have dodge Ram 1988 Like this Truck but This Truck Is Awsome really, Is very comforting Drive My truck because is Nice like this Truck.

4. I have a 1996 2nd Generation Ram truck and those are the ones that appeal to the eye...This one above was well done.

5. i own a 2008 ram 1500 with a 4 inch lift with 35inch tires everywhere i go i get people asking me about it and sayiny how nice it is my next goal is to get a 80s mod ram and slam it so i will have hi-n-dri & sweet-n-lo so what is life if you dont dream?????

6. I find that when you put a D100 LIKE THAT next to a 70-80's square body chevy. Same amound of customizing.. the dodge will get more attention simply because you NEVER see them. and this is comming from someone who spend 5 years building an 81 chevy. Sure the parts are hard to find (name one dodge that isn't. old and new) but isn't that part of the experience? i also believe that these trucks need to get more attention or sooner or later they'll all be wiped off of the planet. This also goes for the 80s fords as well. my neighbor has a 84? (i think) 2wd with a 5.0 and a stick... with 32,000 miles that he picked up from an 80 something year old woman.... for 2500... yes... i know i was SO upset when i found out because I would've bought it for that. ANYWAYS i just think that trucks like these DESERVE MORE ATTENTION ok i'll stop rambling now
