Callaway Cars has been known for producing high-performance Corvettes and Camaros. Callaway recently released it's first-ever high-performance full-size pickup, the Callaway Silverado "C19" SportTruck.
The Callaway "C19" SportTruck is based on the current Chevrolet Silverado 1500 half-ton pickup. Under the hood, Callaway enhanced both the 5.3L V-8 and 6.2L V-8 haulers with Eaton's Twin Vortices Series roots-type superchargers. These same Eaton superchargers are used to increase the power levels of the Corvette ZR-1 and Cadillac CTS-V. Other Callway power tweaks are the addition of a air-to-liquid intercooler system, plus high-capacity fuel injectors and a high-flow air intake system.
After installing the Callaway performance goodies the 5.3L V-8 grunt was increased to 450 horsepower (@ 6,200 rpm) and 450 pounds-feet of torque (@ 4,000 rpm). That's an increase of 135 horsepower and 115 pounds-feet of torque over the factory 5.3L V-8. The Callaway 6.2L V-8 produces 540 horsepower (@ 6,200 rpm) and 522 pounds-feet of torque (@ 3,800 rpm). The increase is 137 horsepower and 105 pounds-feet of torque over the stock 6.2L V-8. Despite the huge performance gains, Callaway guarantees the trucks will keep their same fuel economy ratings as the standard Silverado, which the EPA rates at 15/21 mpg city/highway for the 5.3L V-8 4x2 and 13/18 mpg for the 6.2L V-8 4x2 engines.
Other Callaway upgrades include carbon-fiber injector covers, a low-restriction exhaust system, embroidered seat headrests and floormats and Callaway badging and key fobs. A three-year 36,000 mile warranty is standard.
Optional upgrades include chrome-coated Eaton supercharger housing. Callaway nine-spoke alloy wheels paired with BF Goodrich tires. Callaway lowered sport-suspension, LeMans GT brakes, sport interior package, tonneau cover, a five-year 100,000 mile extended warranty, and you can pick up your Callaway SprotTruck at the factory.
The Callaway SportTrucks are available in two-wheel and four-wheel-drive.
