If I tried to sell you a blank piece of paper for $500, you'd think I was crazy. But, if I tried to sell you a piece of paper with your favorite celebrity, athlete, or politician's autograph on it for $500, you may just think about. The same goes for custom trucks, apparently.
As featured in issue 10 of 2010, Sly Stallone commissioned West Coast Customs to build him a unique '55 Ford F-100 for his blockbuster movie The Expendables. It sold over the weekend for a figure I can't wrap my head around.
The truck is cool, no doubt, as it features a lowered suspension on Lexani wheels with Continental tires, it has an Edelbrock crate engine, LMC Truck body panels, and it has a fancy name behind it—Sly Stallone.
I guess if you have a lot of money and you like movies, or if you're a fan of a guy who doesn't speak English very well, you don't mind spending exponentially more dollars than a truck is worth.
$132,000 will buy an awfully nice anything on four wheels. Looks like there is something to a name.
