It sounded like a good idea at the time—line up next to each other and see who could go up this 250ft 38-degree incline the fastest. What could possibly go wrong?

The short answer is the Hemi-equipped Jeep Commander beat the Hemi-equipped Dodge Ram Mega Cab 4x4.
However, the end result doesn't tell the whole story.
We were in Gorman, California, doing some off-roading when one of us had the brilliant idea to race up this giant incline. It really was huge and a real challenge for any 4WD truck or SUV.
With radios blasting and windows down, we counted to three and smashed the throttle.
Side-by-side off the line, the Commander eventually grew a small lead the Ram couldn't overcome. At the top of the hill, it wasn't even close.
It wasn't very smart, but it was a blast and something I look back on now and think, "I get paid for this?!"
